When will you ship my order?

Orders are processed within 2-5 business days. You'll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking as soon as your order leaves our hands.

How long does shipping take?

Once shipped, most orders arrive within 5-10 business days via USPS. Delivery times vary by location.

How much does shipping cost?

Shipping rates are $7.50 flat rate on orders $44.99 and under. Orders $45.00 and over will ship free.

Do you ship internationally?

Right now we ship within the continental United States only. If you're outside our current shipping area, reach out and we'll see what we can do.

My order hasn't arrived — what should I do?

Start with the tracking link in your shipping confirmation email. If your package shows as delivered but you haven't received it, check with neighbors and your local post office. Still no luck? Email us at cindi@backwoodsgoat.com and we'll sort it out.

Our Products

Is your soap safe for sensitive skin?

Our soaps are made with goat milk / plant-based oils (Olive Oil, Sustainably Sourced Palm Oil, Coconut Oil) Saponified Lye, only skin safe fragrance oils / Essential Oils and Colorants. Most people with sensitive skin do well with our products. If you have a known allergy to any ingredient, check the full ingredient list on each product page. When in doubt, start with our unscented bar.

How long does handmade soap last?

Unopened, our soaps keep well for [a very long time. Once you start using a bar, it'll last [3-5 weeks] with daily use. For longest life, let your bar dry out between uses and store it on a draining soap dish.

Why does each bar look a little different?

Every bar is made by hand in small batches, so slight variations in color, swirl pattern, and size are completely normal — and a sign that a real person made your soap. The ingredients and quality are consistent batch to batch.

Orders & Returns

Do I Have to Pay Sales Tax?

Tax amounts (if any) are based on your shipping location and vary by county and state. Our website automatically calculates sales tax when you enter a shipping location.

Can I change or cancel my order?

We start processing orders quickly, so changes aren't always possible. Email us at cindi@backwoodsgoat.com as soon as you can and we'll do our best. Once an order has shipped we can't make changes to it.

What Types of Payments do you Accept?

When Will I be Charged?

Your account will be charged within 24 hours of completing checkout.

My order arrived damaged — what do I do?

Damages and issues Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. If your products are damaged upon receipt.  Please contact me at cindi@backwoodsgoat.com with photos of the damage, and we will remedy the situation.  If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Total value of the resolution will not exceed the value of the original purchase.  **Because of the nature of our products, we are not able to accept returns for "personal preference" reasons.  Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Yes, I work with small boutiques and gift shops — reach out at cindi@Backwoodsgoat.com to talk minimums and pricing. I don't currently offer wholesale, but I do take custom orders for weddings and events. Contact me to chat about what you have in mind.
